According to an AP report (here) from December 4th, 2014 out of Vienna, Austria, a woman placed firewood in her wood-burning stove and it exploded with a grenade blast.

Mark Batterson's newest, The Grave Robber, will be a great addition to preachers, who seek insights and anecdotes on the seven signs in John's gospel.

It will also be a great inspirational read for everyone that struggles from time to time for reason of ... - you fill in the blank. Batterson makes you realize that God has you at a special place in time in order to maximize His glory and your effective impact and happiness.

It was a simple brass plaque with raised letters, just one word: E-T-E-R-N-I-T-Y. I have only seen anything of it's kind on this one trip, tracing the steps of a Scottish Pastor whose writings impacted me deeply, Robert Murray McCheyne. Outside the church where he served - in old Scottish construction form - is a cemetery. An old gate serves as entrance to the stately burial ground. The plaque is the threshold of the gateway. All of us are just a few heartbeats away from crossing over Eternity.

There is something that you can do, and it won't cost you a dime. Look a stranger in the eye and smile. It might feel awkward, just go ahead.

Here is a woman that has put it into practice:

On Saturday, November 8th, I had not been feeling well for four days. I asked Debbie if she wanted me to have my appendix checked out at the emergency room.

"Yes, it's better than bursting in the night."

So off we went.
