True confession time: I embarrassed myself in a golf tournament in 2011.

Here is how that went down. I have won a few local tournaments - to be honest, this reflects on the fact that there was little competition, not that I am proficient.

Six weeks prior to our second outreach for 15-25 year olds, Fritz and Petra Geiling, our executive leadership for the outreach, organized and executed a great kickoff for our team of workers.

53 workers have already signed up to assist us in impacting young people with the gospel of Jesus Christ. Ultimately we anticipate around 70 workers who will assist us on game day. Pretty exciting stuff.

Easter 2012 was a celebration of Jesus' victory over death and sin. Our emphasis was that there is a historical event that has to be considered. The fact that a person claiming to be God incarnate, and that his identity would be verified through crucifixion and resurrection is so utterly crazy that it just might be true. Think of it: God desires a relationship with a people who has turned Him a cold shoulder.

While we considered the evidence, much like a jury would hear the evidence presented by a prosecuting attorney, the drama shifts when it is the jury finds itself becoming the accused. Recently I was invited to go on a three day trip to get away from the normal bustle of daily work - a time to be alone with Christ and retank. My host was a kind member, Stefan. He played his role as host very well.

In 1920 a forester built this one room "house" in which he and his wife lived for 9 months out of the year. There is no running water and the outhouse is part of daily life.

Technology is great in that it allows those of us that travel the ability to carry a library of books on an electronic device.

  • No longer are weight restrictions a problem. Before, eight books would throw your overhead carry-on over the limit.
  • Making notes in your electronic books is always available at the Amazon site.
  • Free is good.
  • Oh, and did I say, free? That is always good.

Here are a few books that caught my eye and I downloaded today. One of the authors is new to me, so I am anxious to see what I will discover. Most are reliable friends. Warren Wiersbe was so kind to host me as a guest for an afternoon and we discussed everything on my heart in his library of 10,000 books!

You gotta love the free book offers from Kindle, from the generous authors and publishers. Get 'em while they are free on Amazon.com.
