It has finally happened! I have been counted worthy to be called out and named as dangerous. Along with the early church leaders, I count it an honor to be misaligned.
A young man doing research on our church, since he has been attending regularly made me aware that I am personally named as a sect leader in Aschaffenburg on an internet site, even providing my home address. I have no idea what the reason for providing my personal address would be and thankfully to this point no mob has shown up with pitchforks, torches and tar.
What does a person do in this case?
Steadfast
I choose to take no other action that continue to be faithful to my calling. To preach with clarity and call to repentance and life in Christ. To love the disenfranchised and marginized in our society. To act as closely to Jesus, as he would allow and empower me to do.
Why am I being singled out? This is our culture we have adopted. Germany does not really tolerate anything apart from the norm of accepted majority. Those outside the catholic or lutheran church are "sects" - irregardless of doctrine or lifestyle.
A sect or cult, by my definition, teaches that it alone delivers truth and is the vehicle for salvation. I outright deny that I am any part of salvation: Jesus alone is the way, the truth and the life. No one, comes into a relationship with the father (salvation), except through him. Unfortunately the two churches used as the litmus test, do not necessarily teach Sola Fide.
Yay! Persecution and having motives misinterpreted. It delights me that my name would be mentioned in conjunction with Jesus. That is a good thing.
