KFC has started a new ad campaign, so now the likeness of Harlan Sanders, a.k.a. Colonel Sanders is back on the small screen.

Sanders established a restaurant that went bankrupt when a newly built highway rerouting traffic away from his business - at the time he was 65 years old. He took his first social security check and opened a franchise, then another.

Now-5200 restaurants exist in the U.S. with 15,000 worldwide.

Remind yourself: Quitting is only for those who are doubtful of their destiny.

- Edmond Mbiaka

There will be times that will come get you want to quit your emotions are so low that you ask yourself the question: Is this worth it? Remind yourself: Nothing of importance was ever accomplished by quitting.

You can do more than just do work you can drive when you consider the following thoughts...

Guard against self-pity

Even though your emotions will tell you you are a victim you must remind yourself, that you are not a victim. Scripture says you are an overcomer. Rom. 8:37 There is a certain mentality that follows a victim - a "victim mentality" releases you from any responsibility; becoming passive. An overcomer or to be a winner is one who is proactive in his or her life.

Think positive thoughts

In Philippians 4:8 Paul reminds us that there's anything good, if there's anything pure, if there's anything righteous, think on these things. See also 2 Cor 10:5 We do not think any thought that comes into our mind we control our thoughts and we think of the things that are right.

This too will pass

Highs and lows will come and go, so during the storm do not make major decisions based on the them. The lowest emotions will play havoc on you and a person tends to make unhealthy decisions during the times when your emotions are controlling. This is the sound advice your stock broker will give you during market fluctuations.

Keep your eyes on the prize

Rome was not built in a day; keep your goals and your life's vision in focus. This is why I'm a firm believer in goals and having clearly articulated and written tasks because it gives you a structure that you can achieve.

Reading biographies has been an immense help to me because it is showing me that others have also struggled with challenges that make a person question whether they will be able to survive the moment. The book Endurance, chronicling the shipwreck of Shackleton is one example.

Stay inspired

Surround yourself with encouragement. There have been times that I've kept a notebook with cards and notes that it been passed to me were somewhat thanked me for having invested in their life and there are many times that I've gone to that file to once again remind myself that I do make a difference. Possibly you would want to keep encouraging mementos or reminders that your life does matter and that you do make an impact.

Some things are worth the pain

Somethings in life would just require tenacity and it does mean that there will be a struggling involved. No pain, no gain. That is not just a advertising slogan from Nike that is an axiom in life that you can count on. Time invested in a marriage, and family, in a career, and creative thought are well worth the investment.

Life is not for chickens, even if Colonel Sanders ultimately made a living based upon 7 secret herbs and spices.

Question: How do you act when it (it = describes what is of utmost importance to you) has become mundane?
