Passion for church planting

At 17 years of age, I knew that I desired to plant churches in Europe. Some 40 years have passed and that is still my greatest joy.

Many different skill-sets are required to reach out and adopt another culture - a few of which are flexibility, humor and a never-give-up attitude.

Within these pages you will find some of our stories, see some of the sites that we enjoy as we travel to encourage those in the task of planting churches in Europe, plus visit those that our church has sent out around the world. May you also be inspired to be passionate about serving Jesus and others.

What I'm Reading: March 2015

Where was this book 35 years ago when I needed it desperately?

This book is a must read for those entering vocational Christian ministry. Pastor, if you are going to be the sending church of a missionary, read this book. If you mentor or coach a person considering missions, read this book. If you are in missions service - even if you are a veteran - read this book.

Most encouraging is the strategic plan filled with helpful his-to's, how to reduce deputation (raising the needed support) to less than the average 18-24 months.

Just a quick quote from this book:

Years ago, I had a sixty- year- old man start weeping during one of our training sessions.

At a break, I asked him if he was okay and if I had said something that upset him. He glanced down, then whispered, “No, I just wish I had received this training thirty years ago. It would have saved our marriage and family so much stress and pain!” One of my primary motives over the years in equipping Christian workers to get to full support is to help strengthen their marriages and families.

I found this to be one of the most helpful books for articulating vision and fund-raising that I have ever read. Get it on Kindle.
